Support and Report FAQs

What is Support and Report?

Calling out unacceptable behaviour isn’t always easy, and you may not feel able to raise your concerns using the normal channels. Support and Report is a confidential online platform where you can inform us of your concerns and access support and information.

Support and Report shouldn’t replace you and your manager discussing and resolving everyday issues. And you shouldn’t use this for something that requires immediate and / or urgent attention or where a process already exists to support you for example the grievance process.

How can I make a report?

You can make a report anonymously or with details. All reports go to our Inclusion team for review. Depending on the information submitted it may be appropriate for the HR department to be notified and for them to contact you rather than the Inclusion team.

If I make a report with details, what happens next?

If you made a report with details, you’ll be contacted usually within five to ten working days.  We’ll speak with you about what you have reported, signpost you to the right support, provide guidance and discuss any next steps with you.

If I make a report anonymously, what happens next?

If you make an anonymous report, we have no way of identifying the person reporting. We will therefore not be able to contact you directly and offer you any guidance or support. Anonymous reports are reviewed to identify any issues or risks that need to be considered or patterns / areas of unacceptable behaviour so we can implement proactive and preventative measures.

If I submit a report, will it trigger some kind of process?

Reporting concerns through Support and Report doesn’t trigger a complaints procedure. If you have a grievance (whether informal or formal) or whistleblowing concerns, you need to raise these under the appropriate policy (Grievance or Whistleblowing) so we can make sure we take timely and appropriate action. Refer to the Support page for further information.

Will you share the information I provide?

If you provide details identifying people involved, and the nature of your report raises urgent concerns about risk to you or others, we may judge that action is required even if you are not requesting action be taken at this point. Wherever possible, we will discuss this with you first.

Who can see my report?

Once you submit your report it is automatically sent to an inbox that is monitored by the Inclusion team. If your report is not an Inclusion matter, they may refer your report to the HR team.

How long is the information I provide stored?

Records on Report and Support will be maintained in line with our Data Protection policy.
