Grievance and whistleblowing

What is whistleblowing?

Whistleblowing, sometimes referred to as a public interest disclosure, is when you are concerned about some wrongdoing in the workplace that affects everyone such as:

  • Possible malpractice
  • Corruption or illegal acts
  • Damage to the environment
  • Breach of health and safety regulations.

You can raise concerns of wrongdoing internally for example to your manager, another manager or a member of the HR team. If you felt this wasn’t appropriate you can do this through the Raising Concerns helpline, Safecall which is a free and independent organisation trained to handle these types of calls.
